Mel C has said that even though the Spice Girls tried to get together for a reunion show, it just didn’t work out. A secret meeting was held by the now scattered girl band in London to discuss the future of their group. The long-awaited get-together was arranged to rekindle their friendships and make final decisions about their public performance at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration.

“We all got together in January, apart from Mel B who was in LA. We had a lovely afternoon and just hung out and talked about babies and everything else,” the 36-year-old singer told the Daily Star at Rick Parfitt Jnr’s Rock Ball.

“There’s lots of rumours about a performance at the Queen’s Jubilee and we were so honoured to be asked. We tried to make it work but we just couldn’t get it together.

“It’s such a shame but our schedules are so different. We live on different continents and have to respect the wishes of all five girls and we couldn’t find a way to make it work,” she added.

Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton says her eldest son Beau and fiance Jade helped her in creating her new children’s fashion range.

The 36-year-old singer is releasing the kids clothing collection through British catalogue store Argos and said the designing process was a family affair, Contactmusic reported.

“I’m doing a kid’s line for Argos, Beau has picked all of the colours, they’re fun and inexpensive because kids grow out of clothes so quickly. It’s been a real family affair. Beau has his favourite pieces, he loves the hoodies.

“Jade puts the cool in my kids range, he’s done lots of work for me too which is great,” she said.

However, Emma says she doesn’t seek bandmate and fashion designer Victoria Beckham’ advice.

“Whenever we get together, we just talk about our kids and family stuff. We just hang out like normal friends. We don’t really speak about work so I haven’t mentioned all of this to her. My line and her lines are very different.”…

Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton has officially joined Victoria Beckham in the fashion design department, however she has embraced our favorite category – children’s fashion!

The mother of two recently announced her exciting new partnership with Argos to create an exclusive baby and childrenswear range for the retailer’s newly launched clothing category. The collaboration is the first of its kind for both Argos and Emma, which will see the clothing range available in store and online from January 2012.

Emma has been working with Argos since March 2010 on the 99-piece collection for girls and boys aged newborn to 10 years old. She commented on the collection saying:

“As a Mum myself I’m forever searching for fun and fashionable clothes for my boys, that are comfortable and practical too – clothes they really want to wear. Working with Argos has given me the opportunity to create exactly that! I’ve worked hard on every piece in the range; the designs, colours, fabrics, prints and cuts and I’m so proud of the outcome”

“As a child I modelled for Argos and featured in the catalogue several times so it’s great to make a return appearance, this time with my own range, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”

The designs for the collection have been heavily influenced by Emma’s own family and life. Four year old son Beau inspired skull and cross-bone t-shirts, while cute prints of their dogs appear on some of the gorgeous party dresses for girls. Jade and Emma’s love for music is even reflected in guitar print hoodies in the boyswear range.

Celeb mum Emma Bunton reveals she’s been reading bedtime stories to her boys from the telly!

It can be a bit of a battle getting kids to settle down to listen to a story at bedtime. But, for Emma Bunton, it’s just got a little bit better. Emma tweeted, “Putting my boys to bed and its making storytime a bit easier as I’m on Telly reading a bed time story on nick junior!”

Along with a host of other celebrities, including Myleene Klass, Denise Lewis and Jayne Torvill, Emma is part of Nick Junior’s A Bedtime Story with Arnie and Barnie where the popular worm presenters Arnie and Barnie are treated to a reading of a traditional tale.

Melanie Brown announced the birth of her baby girl on Twitter and her former Spice Girls sister, Emma Bunton, was quick to congratulate her.

“Finally our baby arrives,Stephen nearly passed out,Phoenix screamed,I laughed so hard the baby popped out!!!” Melanie Tweeted about her husband Stephen Belafonte. “She is just sooo amazing!!”

“@OfficialMelB Yeah!!! Well done Mummy!” Emma wrote back. “Lots of love. Xxx”

Notably silent on the Twitter congratulations has been Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, who also recently gave birth to a baby girl. But we’re sure her message of support is coming soon!

Melanie has been Tweeting up a storm today thanking her fans.

“I wanna thank you ALL for your beautiful well wishes,it means a lot to me,you guys are the best,I am SOOOOOO blessed my heart is melting!! she wrote and later added, “Thank you once again for all your lovely well wishes,my heart is swollen with love!!”

This is Melanie’s first child with Stephen, but she has a 12-year-old daughter Phoenix and 4-year-old daughter Angel from previous relationships.

“My daughter Phoenix wants to pick her sisters baby name,so fingers crossed she picks a good one!!” Melanie wrote.

Emma Bunton has proclaimed her excitement at the prospect of Jennifer Saunders‘ upcoming Spice Girls musical.

Baby Spice, as she was known in the ’90s girl group, branded Viva Forever “amazing” and revealed that she and ex-bandmates Victoria Beckham, Mel B and Mel C had been in touch with producers.

“It’s going to be amazing. I’ve heard a little bit about the story but it’s top secret. We’ve been in touch with the producer and the writer,” Bunton told PA.

Announced last September, Viva Forever is set to open in London’s West End next year, and will be partly created by the team behind the hit show Mamma Mia!.

Bunton also emphasised the continued closeness of the band: “Now we’ve all had children there is so much for us to chat about and we keep in touch with emails.

“We’ve got about ten Spice Girl babies and I love them all. My son’s birthday is coming up and that’s a good chance for us to meet up.”

‘Excited’ new mum Emma Buntonhas opened up on swapping baby advice Victoria Beckham, after the former Spice stars gave birth less than eight weeks apart.

Emma gave birth to second child Tate in May, while Victoria returned home from hospital in LA with Harper Sevenlast week.

And according to the Dancing on Ice judge, she and Victoria have been sharing photos, baby tips and ‘excitement’ over email ever since.

‘As soon as we can possibly meet up, we will. But for the moment we’re making do with emails,’ the 32-year-old told Hello! Magazine.

‘We’ve been swapping bits of advice and photos and sharing our excitement.’

Emma also told how a beautiful bouquet from the Beckham family arrived within hours of her giving birth.

‘The first bouquets through the door were from Victoria, Geri (Halliwell) and Mel C,’ she said.

‘They came with little notes and that is always special to me, to get those from the girls.

She added: ‘The relationship we girls have will always be special. Now our kids are friends too and as they grow, it will be wonderful to watch them all and the different stages in their lives.’
